Improve healthcare for transgender and non-binary patients

Our fourth event will focus on what we can do to make trans and non-binary patients feel more comfortable in clinical environments. 

The event will begin with a short presentation about clarifying key terms, followed by a discussion with our expert panel. You will be able to ask any questions you have at the end!​

Dr Julia Bailey

Dr Julia Bailey is a sexual health specialty doctor in South East London, and senior researcher at UCL.

Julia's research focuses on sexual health, digital health, and marginalised groups. She co-leads an Equality Action Group at UCL, and is passionate about bringing a social science lens into medicine, teaching and research.

Dr Alison May Berner

A Specialty Trainee in Medical Oncology in the London Deanery and a Part-time Specialty Doctor in Adult Gender Identity at the Gender Identity Clinic London, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She provides advice and assessment for gender diverse patients with active cancer or genetic cancer predisposition, and leads a number of research projects related to improving cancer care for LGBTQ populations.

She is also a member of the Association of Cancer Physicians Trainee Committee and a trustee of Live Through This charity for LGBTQ people living with and beyond cancer.
